Todays blog is focusing on some of my favourite ways to wear my hair and these just happen to be with headbands. Headbands look wonderful on transitioning hair but also natural grey hair in all its grown out glory. In fact, headbands look great full stop. See below my 3 Ways to Wear a Headband on Natural Grey Hair
Headband using a Silk Scarf
A silk scarf is a wonderful addition to your hair look and this type of headband looks great on natural grey hair and all hair colours to be honest. Transitioning to grey is a fabulous time to be experimenting with head scarves to either hide the demarcation line or to distract from it. You probably have a few knocking around but if you’d like to try something new then check out my amazon store here to get one in your style.
One of my favourite ways to wear my hair is with a headband on my natural grey hair. I really don’t like hair on my face but I like to wear my hair loose and my hair is long, so this solves that problem. If you are wearing a block coloured outfit, then a scarf like I am wearing below, will totally jazz up your look. The small square ones are the best, as you don’t want anything too heavy and bulky in your hair. Silk and Satin ones are my favourite. Check out etsy too for some handmade gorgeous versions in your favourite colours.
Evening Headband Look to show off Your Natural Grey Hair
Got a formal occasion coming up, a wedding or a family gathering now or in the future? No problem…a gold or silver hair piece will take the attention off your transitioning colour or just add some extra pizazz to your outfit. This one was from amazon and cost me a few pounds..so cheap and I think it’s lovely. I used it for a bridal inspired make up look for one of my tutorials and I think it looks quite greek goddess as well. You can get the exact same one from amazon.
I twisted the sides of my hair back into a bun for this look and then put in the hair piece into he twists. All very simple but a classic, classy look for a special occasion.
Alice Bands on Natural Grey Hair
Alice bands aren’t just for little girls that’s for sure. You just need to know how to wear them for a grown up look. This look is whimsical and romantic and is so simple. Headbands are available in many stores from cheap to the more expensive. I think I bought this from H& M but I really have had it for ages.
All you need for this is a headband and bobby pins. Again this is a great style for when you are transitioning to your grey hair. See below how I create this look.
Scarf Tie on Low Down Pony Tail
The last but by no means least is wearing a scarf either as an addition to a side ponytail or a ponytail.
I bought this scarf ages ago from a Oliver Bonas but there are similar ones in my Amazon store here.
This is super simple and is great to add when you are wearing a block colour, because you can add the pop of colour with the scarf. By all means, wear it to reflect your personality. Scarves like this distract away from that line that you may have when you are growing out your hair, so this is a great one for those days. As you can see, I am no longer growing mine out and it looks stylish.
I hope these looks have give you some inspiration if you are transitioning to grey hair, have grey hair or any other colour hair for that matter. All these looks are so versatile, that’s why I love them so much.
You can see all these looks all together on IGTV- a quick version to music or over on my Youtube channel, where you will find the explanatory version.
